Who are we

The US-based half of the team is led by Troy Sadler, who is the Thomas James Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina (UNC).
He is a former middle and high school science teacher and currently teaches within a preservice teacher education program and frequently facilitates science teacher professional learning associated with issues-based teaching.
He is joined by Zhen Xu, a postdoctoral fellow and Nannan Fan, Heewoo Lee, and Rebecca Lesnefsky, all PhD students.

The other half of the team, based in Israel, is led by David Fortus, who holds the Chief Justice Bora Laskin Professorial Chair of Science Teaching at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. He was a former aerospace project manager and a high school physics teacher, and studies issues related to curriculum and motivation. He is joined by Dr. Keren Dalyot – a consultant, Dr. Yuval Rosenberg – a postdoctoral fellow, and Shira Passentin, Natasha Segal, and Adi Moskovits, all three PhD students.
